iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Updates Announced
Support for Older Apple Devices
Apple has announced that its upcoming iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 software updates will be compatible with a wide range of older Apple devices, including models dating back to 2017. However, the 2018 6th-generation iPad will not be supported by the new software.
Supported Devices
The following devices will be able to update to iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 when they are released in September 2024:
- iPhone 8 and later
- iPad (5th generation and later)
- iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
- iPad mini (5th generation and later)
- iPod touch (7th generation)
New Features
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will include a number of new features, including:
- New customization options
- Generative AI capabilities
- Improved performance and battery life
